Guess what? We have just recieved 2 screenshot of new Yahoo Mail design. Thanks Big Booger for providing us the screenshot. Here's what he said...

Yahoo has just redone its emailing system providing a new user interface that is sure to please most and aggitate a few. It is more rounded, with a different colour scheme and follows closely in line with hotmail, adding a new green bar to indicate inbox space usage, a new tabbed system allowing you to check you mail, addresses, calendar and a new addition called the notepad and other niceties.

There are two new buttons added below the tabs, that allow you to check or create new mail. This is very simple and easy. I find the new changes to be right in line with the way they should be going. I only wished the would allow users to choose the style and colour scheme... perhaps that might be a later addition.

Another feature called the quickbuilder allows you to grab address from you contact list, and quickly build a yahoo address book. It has a semi-rolodex feel to it, simply going through your contacts and arranging them in order, and allowing you to input information as you see fit.

One nice thing I noticed is that it's wider than before and you dont have to scroll to the bottom to see the entire yahoo mail mainpage. One negative that is going to be around for as long as you have a free account are the advertisements. Another goodie is you now have access to bulk mail from within your inbox. In the old style you had to hit mail home to get to your bulk mail to check it. It's now offered as one of the tabs within your inbox, I am glad they did this as it eliminates an extra click everytime you want to check your bulk mail.

Further they have added the compose and check tabs to both the top and bottom, as in the old version, only now they are present even outside of your messages. Makes it more convenient.

Overall I give this release a thumbs up and it is currently available to all yahoo email users as a beta version. Just click on the yahoo new look preview immediately after you log in, you will see it next to the old tabs, in the middle of the page.
Attached is a screenshot of the new look.
