Video games will gain a whole new dimension - including a mild sense of nausea - with a contest Aug. 15 at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif.
Game players who pass qualifying rounds will compete for final prizes in games projected on the museum's giant IMAX screen, believed to be the first time an IMAX screen has been used for gaming.
The Maxgames contest includes the following popular games for all three major game consoles :-

The event is being staged in two sessions :-
| 11am to 5pm "E & T (all ages) Games" Playing Gotham, Tony Hawk, NFL Fever, Super Monkey Ball, Soccer Slam, SSX Tricky $25 ($15 for members) - Admission for Spectators: A regular Tech Ticket ($9 , $7 for under 12 ) or Tech Membership Play In The Day Includes Pizza from Tony&Alba's, Speakers from Game Developers, Entrance to The Tech Museum Galleries, Maxgames Shirt, SWAG Bag | 6pm to 11pm - M Games - The Wave Magazine Section Playing Halo, DOA3, SSX Tricky, and Virtua Fighter 4! M Games (Must be over 17 or accompanied by an adult) - $30 ($20 for members) The Wave Magazine Party starts at 6PM and features complimentary food by Habana Cuba, Chacho's, and Antonella's Restaurants, with a no-host bar serving up local brew by Stoddard's.
