- I agree with no horizontal scrolling, but users that have 800x600 resolution should learn to deal with it
Im tired of pages designed for 800x600 that barely go halfway across my screen! (1440x1080) -

- Some users have many programs and thus windows open, and several IE windows for cross-reference or replying to several posts. The thing is, its much quicker to highlight a program by clicking at its window, instead of trying to find its button on the task-bar and then actually hitting it with the mouse. I have a resolution of 1280x1024 on my 19" CRT monitor, and I prefer to have the IE windows in 800x600 so this does not only apply to my brother that has a 14" monitor at 800x600 res.

- Why the IE icon? I suppose Neowin thinks web design is only targeted for Internet Explorer?

- 2 things i don't agree: 1. fixed font size: granny, get 21" monitor and a small resolution like 1024 x 768 ! 99% users use too big resolution on too small monitor, like 1600x1200 on 17" 2. long urls: even 30 characters url might be too difficult. Better say how did you get there.

"Every year brings new mistakes. In 2002, several of the worst mistakes in Web design related to poor email integration. The number one mistake, however, was lack of pricing information, followed by overly literal search engines. As the Web grows, websites continue to come up with ways to annoy users. Following are ten design mistakes that were particularly good at punishing users and costing site owners business in 2002. "
1. No Prices
2. Inflexible Search Engines
3. Horizontal Scrolling
4. Fixed Font Size
5. Blocks of Text
The website contains some sketches to highlight how you might encounter some of these "problems"! Some are quite funny.
