All of a sudden, there is a lot of activity in the Taiwanese OEM sector, centred around MS Smartphone 2002. This may provide some of the explanation for the spat between Sendo, the trailblazing UK designer of the aborted z100 smartphone, and its supposed sponsor Microsoft. In November, Sendo scrapped the phone days from launch and on 23 December it confirmed that it had filed suit in the US, accusing Microsoft of stealing its technology and customers and passing them on to low-cost Taiwanese manufacturers."

does NVrefreshTool 2.1 work on these drivers?
    Quote this comment #1.1 Posted by SHoTTa35 on 27 Dec 2002 - 17:44
you don't need that naymore as the drivers come with it built in... refresh rate override is there...

    NVRT 2.1 worked for me!!!
Quote this comment #1.7 Posted by vacs on 28 Dec 2002 - 01:31
short answer: nvrefreshtool still works with 42.01 on both OpenGL and Direct3D. And probably will work on many future versions unless nvidia again decides where to store the Hz values in the registry. The refresh rate selection in the advanced display settings is nice but unfortunately only meant for D3D games, so you still need a 3rd party application for the both APIs...

    what's better for GF3ti200? 4x.xx or 3x.xx drivers?
    Quote this comment #4.1 Posted by zivan56 on 27 Dec 2002 - 18:47
The 4x.xx drivers give me 1000 more 3DMarks than 3x.xx on the card.

Time to go modify these for my Geforce 4 440 Go
    Quote this comment #8.1 Posted by tr4nce on 28 Dec 2002 - 00:04
How do you modify them for that? ^^; I just got a Sony VAIO NVR-23 (has a GeForce 4 420 Go) for Christmas. It'd be cool if I could use 41.xx drivers. ^^

I've been using reforce since the 30.x series drivers. Ever since the planetquake one stopped working I've been using reforce. Works fine with these drivers too.

Anyone test these yet with the Nvidia TNT (yeah, yeah.. I know ) card yet?
Quote this comment Reply to this comment #13 Posted by Yinx on 28 Dec 2002 - 23:49
I am using it with TNT2 one thing I noticed is that I am not able to fix the refreshrate anymore. but that doesn't matter cause now i am getting the same FPS in Counterstrike (40 to 50 fps) as i had with a high refreshrate with previous detonators.

i got a 1.4% improvment with these new drivers
Quote this comment Reply to this comment #15 Posted by Rivers on 29 Dec 2002 - 12:20
The drivers are crap! Glitchy graphics, graphics missing... I am yet to find one that displays any of my games properly compared to the original windows xp Geforce 2 driver (which was released like a year and a half ago). Maybe them not being cirted by microsoft may be the problem...

    They suck. Period.

42.01's gave me worse performance in certaingames (like stuttering and stuff in Airfix Dogfighter etc.) and after reinstalling 41.09 everything went back to smoothness. I'll wait for the next release instead. *Abit GF4 Ti4200 OTES*

Tried the new drivers and was quite dissapointed .Hitman 2 runs slower and with some weird textures here and there on some occasions ... Ofcourse it could be that my system has "seen it all" and I ought to sort it out ... Another one new year's resolution ...
