I just received this in the mail and thought I'd share.
Dear Steven,
Welcome to the Beta release of Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 5!
We will be providing support for the beta program via Newsgroups. It is very important that you read all of the documentation, especially the sections concerning the beta process on how to report a bug, etc. Be sure to keep this information on hand, as you will need to include it in all correspondence with the Microsoft Beta Group regarding your program, as well as to log on to BetaPlace.
BetaPlace provides you information about the following changes introduced into the Beta release of SMS 2.0 SP5:
Site-to-Site Communication Change
Windows Logon Installation Changes
Windows Server 2003 Support Improvements
Slow Link Detection
Changes in Applying Access Control Lists to Objects
The beta testing process is very important because it helps ensure that we release the best possible product. We have selected your site from a large pool of applicants because we believe you will provide us with the feedback necessary to accomplish this goal. However, we are limited in the number of sites we may add to the test program, and we really need to hear from you about problems you find with the product as soon as possible. If we don't, we reserve the right to give your beta "slot" to someone else.
Before you continue, it is important to understand that the beta release of any product will not display the stability of a shipped Microsoft product. You may encounter problems with Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 5 that could possibly result in a loss or destruction of data. This release should not be used in production, and we suggest that you back up your existing data before you install and run this software.
Again, thank you for participating in the Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 5 beta program. We look forward to working with you.
