Cheers G for telling me how I was able to register on the Microsoft Office Beta 2 Kit Consumer Registration Site to be notified when the Office Beta 2 Kit will be available for purchase. I imagine its similar to the CPP (Customer Preview Program) so if you are interested it getting a preview of it signup now.

With some telcos slapping limits on how much their users can download each day, we have to wonder how they will cope when this technology goes online. We suspect that the new technology will only be available to selected users even when the exchanges are upgraded and it's bound to be expensive at first. But these things have a way of trickling down to the average customer eventually

They ship it via CD so naturally you pay for the S&H. However if you're a tester like me you get it shipped free of charge.

They may also handout the consumer preview beta at various public meetings about the features in Office 2k3. They've done that with every other release. Either way, I will have had it for quite a long time. I get it sent to me free. At least this time it wont be a surprise when it shows up in the mail. Just hope the poor souls outside the USA get theirs sooner than last time. Beta 1 didn't reach some of them till most of us had been using it for a week or so.
