"The intent of the trial will be to see how much more satisfied Windows customers are when they feel confident about the security of their PC and the safety of their data and personal information,"

PC Satisfaction Trial is adding nice features based off Windows XP.
The PC Satisfaction Trial includes the following new features
Improved Personal Firewall (like the one in ZoneAlarm with program access control)
Built-in AntiVirus Program (as you can see in the screenshot)
Improved PC Health (newer Windows Update)
    Now supports Backup to CDR

Several small software firms already sell or give away pop-up blockers, which operate on varying degrees of aggressiveness. At times, the software blocks more than ads, preventing users from seeing windows that display help information, photo enlargements or sales details.

AOL said its software allows users to see which sites have attempted to deliver pop-ups to them. If the customer wants to get pop-ups from a particular Web site, the user can add the site to a personal "allow list."

The browser will display a running total of the number of pop-ups and pop-unders blocked during each session, AOL said.

Testing, testing.... Thank you for helping us with developing a product that won't see the light of day until longhorn... did we tell you about are new and exciting ways of stopping piracy?!

Yea, WPA, but that didn't go to well did it?
#1.2 JaggedFlame on 12 Mar 2003 - 15:34
Sure it did. I don't see quite as many people complaining. In fact, I've seen almost no complaints regarding WPA.
#1.3 leebobs on 12 Mar 2003 - 20:39
I was talking about Microsoft "Palladium" guys but you are right about WPA.

I hope you're not getting your info from that sodding FAQ, because it makes assumptions that are, quite frankly, total crap. If you read Microsoft's whitepaper, there's nothing in there about "new and exciting ways to stop piracy," and I certainly see nothing wrong with beta testing something coming out next year.

What exactly is this? Is its Microsoft's version of Internet Security (from Symantec)?
#2.1 Lowrider on 12 Mar 2003 - 10:54
Seems to be something like that...

Probably just like it and Mcafee's security center. Symantec and Mcafee's sceurity centers are lame because they only recognize thier own software thus always saying your insecure unless your running thier whole security suite lol.

Well, if TPF is the new MS firewall, most people should be quite happy with it. I wonder who wrote the virus software...

The antivirus signatures are coming from Microsoft not Norton or McAfee (shiver).
