I wouldn't say extensive I would say acceptable. At least it "trys" to mention some of the important features and not how to dumb it down for games etc.

Pretty nice review. Doesn't really touch on anything that a sysadmin would find interesting except a few tiny sections such as Shadow Copying, then again it isn't written for a sysadmin, it is written for the average home user who just wants a copy

Woohoo, bring on the ignorant masses of people running a server OS in a workstation role just so they can post their desktops on the net! Don't forget to enable the version number display to reinforce your eliteness!

[neoquote=#2.1 by Mr magoo]100 million sperm.... and you made it.... [/neoquote] Hey, sorry if I hit a nerve. But it gets real old seeing warez kiddies running around with stuff like Win2k AS and complaining that their games don't work on there.

Very very true. The best is posting your system specs as a signature to forum posts. Classic.

Who actually cares about others computer spec's ? I find doing that completely stupid.

Yeh not a bad review, Highlights mainly the cosmetic and small changes.

It's a decent review ... nothing extensive or nothing that we don't know but it's a good try from our friends at winbeta ...

How can it be a review when its not out yet? Anyways, i like most of the new features in 2003 Server. But i dont think it would be something people should learn to be sysadm in. Its all to easy to use and when the sysadm gets fired from his job and gets recruited at a firm using linux servers he might be surprised. Maybe(atleast here) there should be mandantory Linux and 2k server knowledge. That should cover the most basic needs.
#5.1 creamhackered on 20 Mar 2003 - 18:09
No more new features will be added now lol. Its days away from being RTM'd.
#5.2 FISKER_Q on 20 Mar 2003 - 18:12
I know but a prebeta almost being rtm doesnt make it final or released.
#5.3 briangw on 20 Mar 2003 - 18:57
Well, since it's been feature complete for some time (and the review was more into features than anything else), I think it's safe to say that the review won't be any different from reviews after the RTM copy is released.

To be fully competant on 2003 Server ALL its features need learning and practicing with. I wouldn't employ anyone who couldn't demonstrate any thing in 2003 Server I asked them to show me. I am a 2000 Sys admin and intend on learning all of its features.

Eliteness right :-) Come on. It's just an improved XP with services on-top, server OS, right, whatever... Of course I'd rather run an optimized XP than a bloatware bug-ridden XP. And about eliteness, hehe, back in the days running BitchX on OpenBSD was a sign of IRC 1337ness, posting desktops of win32 would doubtedly impress anyone worth it

Do you make up crap about every OS you've never used correctly?
