Right on time as they announced. Of course, I'll stick with Gentoo and the spanky new Mdk 9.1.

And I just got Red Hat 8 working on my desktop. damn. Well, by the time 9 is available to non-subscribers, I'll probably have messed it up again.

I thought this was free, but you have to pay money to become a member - then you can download it, there's always a catch! Linux isn't going to be free forever, the Pro version is $150 aswell. Unless I've missed something, is there an official direct link to the ISO's? or isn't there a link until one has registered.

In 1 week it will be available for non RHN users, ie the general public. This is just a way to try and boost up RHN membership. If you can not wait the week, you can join at $60/year and get now

Dont be in a rush.. I think the RHN system is gonna be jammed up for a while. I normally download at 200k/sec or more from them, but was downloading the first iso at a modem busting 17k/sec earlier today

Heh... If you like "new and fresh", try out Gentoo Linux. It gives you a kind of "Windows update", except for that it updates your ENTIRE system, from word processor to kernel in one or two commands. And besides it is super 1337.

Using Knoppix on cd. Not wasting my hardrive space yet. I'll wait until Redhat 10 or Mandrake 10. Maybe it will be worthy of putting on my harddrive. I don't know about you but I don't like spending my time command lining to unzip and then compile software when in XP I could do it with two mouse clicks. I love Linux I am just saying it needs to catch up before I switch and I do believe it is really close to being there.
