Dear Microsoft Beta Tester,

Welcome to the beta release of Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM). The Microsoft Active Directory Product Team would like to invite you to participate in their beta program for Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM). Organizations, independent software vendors, and developers who want to integrate their applications with a directory service now have an additional capability within Active Directory that provides numerous benefits. Specific features added in Beta include :

  • Support for replication
  • Support for multiple ADAM instances running on a single computer
  • Additional administration tools
  • Availability of 64-bit version
  • Preliminary releases of the ADAM Administrator’s Guide and ADAM Software Developer’s Kit
  • ADAM Step-by-Step Reviewer’s Guide

    Betaplace contains :

    ADAM Beta is available in US English language only

    adamx86.exe (6.97 MB) - X86 version

    adamia64.exe (9.23 MB) - ia64 version

    Active Direcvtory is great, beats the old NT4 Domain Model although that was fine for its time. But after using AD you notice NT4's limitations like having to setup a new domain just to delegate control, now its a simple right click on an OU and choose delegate.
