Installing the Microsoft Jet 4.0 SP7 Beta allows you to block unsafe expressions by enabling sandbox mode, while allowing Microsoft Office Access 2003 to remain fully functional.

Access 2003 uses the Microsoft Jet Expression Service to evaluate expressions on forms, reports, queries, and several other places. Some of these expressions can be unsafe. Unsafe expressions contain methods or functions that could be exploited by malicious users to access drives, files, or other resources for which they do not have authorization. If such users have access to these resources, they may be able to perform actions such as deleting all of the files from a folder, tying up a network resource, or modifying a file.

In addition to the Sandbox security work, Jet 4.0 SP7 Beta contains a rollup of all fixes (also known as QFEs) issued since the release of Jet 4.0 SP6.

NOTE: Following the completion of this beta, Jet 4.0 SP7 will be released via Microsoft Windows Update and upcoming Microsoft Windows service packs.
