- Exactly, jeeze you fill out the survey and you get accepted. That = open beta.

-
As an existing Microsoft beta participant
i think Thunderriver's point is that unless you're an existing MS beta tester, you wouldn't receive this email. yes testers are still going to be selected, but its supposed to be among existing beta testers.

- Where does it say it's an open beta?
-
#4.6 Posted by creamhackered on 09 Apr 2003 - 18:59
- [neoquote=#4.5 by JaggedFlame]Where does it say it's an open beta? [/neoquote] It doesn't but the whole world and their dog got invites to it and all you need to do is use a Guest ID and you will get accepted, the questions aren't exactly taxing and they aren't expecting much from testers so its basically an open beta. Feel free to argue but its pretty obvious this isn't a select beta.
-
#4.7 Posted by JaggedFlame on 09 Apr 2003 - 20:11
- Since when? The e-mail was sent out to testers, and it's pretty obvious that if they were the ones the e-mail was sent to, they were the only ones invited to fill out the survey. Unless there was a clause saying "Give this out," I think it can be assumed that it is a select beta. And using the Guest ID does not guarantee acceptance at all.

- the advantage of WM5 is that it will integrate with Office 2003 whereas MSN Messenger 5 doesn't
-

It already has been, at least a week ago, maybe even more like 2 weeks ago.
Unless you mean a new build. The one I have is 5.0.0149.
But a new leaked build would sure be nice.
