"Sun has announced plans for a new bundle of software to create a business collaboration platform to compete with Microsoft's Exchange and IBM's Domino platforms. The Sun platform will be known as (*deep breath*) the Sun ONE (Open Net Environment) Collaborative Business Platform. The software contained in the package includes Sun ONE Messaging Server, Sun ONE Calendar Server, Sun ONE Instant Messaging (also a new program, offering encryption and virus/spam protection), Sun ONE Portal Server, and Sun ONE Identity Server.
Including the portal and identity software makes the Sun platform of interest to large enterprises with employees spread out across offices, working from home, or dialing in from a remote location. By including this technology Sun is allowing those enterprises to create secure access for employees from any location using their standard work log-in procedure. Sun is also quick to point out that the technology is scalable up to millions of users. Sun also believes that it can offer more than its rivals in terms of scalability, and has an already established customer base for this type of package.
A worldwide rollout was started on Monday, with costs quoted at around US$30 per user and discounts available for bulk purchases."
We are looking for people that can communicate their ideas clearly and have an attention to detail. During the testing process you will have to explain to us how you found potential bugs and problems in the game and how to reproduce them. We will also ask for your views on game design and playability in order to improve the game.
The beta test will operate in a number of phases, with a large group of players working in concert to play the game. It will start early in the year 2002 in a closed beta testing phase with limited numbers of participants, later evolving into a larger community testing the game´s performance. We will initially select a small group, but will gradually increase the numbers of participants as the beta testing progresses. This gives participants several opportunities to contribute to the creation of EVE.
