Sunset:
During Beta tests we periodically ‘sunset’ or block access to older Beta versions of the software in order to encourage testers to upgrade to the latest revision available from AOL Keyword: Beta 8. It is imperative that all testers are testing on the latest release of the software. This ensures that the bugs reported are current bugs, and not bugs that have been fixed in a later release. We would ask all testers to upgrade to the latest builds as they become available. As we are approaching the end of the AOL 8.0 Beta test, we will aggressively sunset the old Beta releases of the software. You will know if you are using a version due to be sunset if you receive a pop up message encouraging you to upgrade your software at sign on. To avoid losing access to AOL 8.0, we would advise you to upgrade your software everytime a new build is released.

Report Spam:
The Report Spam feature in AOL 8.0 is about to change. For messages reported as spam with the Report Spam button, AOL will no longer automatically add the sender to the Mail Controls block list. The Report Spam behaviour for a single message will become a one-click operation. When you click Report Spam, the message will disappear from the email list into Recently Deleted Email, and the message will be reported to the Conditions of Service Team as Spam. The sender's address will not be automatically added to the Mail Controls block list (and therefore a confirmation dialog will not appear). This change has not been implemented yet but we expect it will happen this week.

Beta Support:
This is a Beta product. If you encounter any problems caused directly or indirectly as a result of testing this Beta product for which you require technical assistance, please do not contact the standard AOL Support Helpline, as the AOL Beta Team are here to assist you with any queries, technical or otherwise, which you may have. The AOL Beta Team may be contacted by email at UKBetaGen@aol.com, or through the Email the Beta Team section of the online area (AOL Keyword: Beta 8).

Remember, a Beta support helpline is available for those testers who are having difficulty with the AOL 8.0 Beta software. The Beta support helpline operates between 7PM - 9PM, Monday to Friday and the number is 0800 376 4409.

The Beta team also host Beta Chat for any Beta related queries from 5 – 6 PM every Thursday.

Thanks once again for all your invaluable help throughout this Beta test. We greatly appreciate all the comments, feedback and suggestions we have received. We ask for one more concerted effort to test this new GM candidate build. Please download the new build and help us release the best version of AOL yet!

Kind Regards
The UK Beta Team
