This update addresses the "Problems When Your Computer with Multiple ATA Drives Enters the S1 Power State" issue in Windows XP, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 812415. Download now for your computer to be able to enter the S1 power state when it has multiple ATA drives.

i have an 80gb wd and a 40 gb seagate drive do i need this?

Hmmm, I found this patch finally colved the problem I had when going into hibernation. Whenever I would power up, my HDD light would be on constantly. Now this no longer happens. I'm happy now

I had problems with drives never waking up after going into sleep. I hope this clears that one up.

Sometimes my HD sleeps on reboot and start up, would this fix it? I doubt it, any ideas?

Ah, happens here too sometimes, the drive shutsdown on reboot! Will definitely try this then.

After I installed this patch my computer would no longer boot or shut down It always hung on boot time and shut down. I had to uninstall it on safe mode. Hmm... Be careful I guess

I never was able to get my BE6-II (BX chipset) to do standby -- it never would wake up right. I thought it was the video drivers (ATI Radeon), but mebbe it was this. Now, if they could just get write-behind caching to work right on Win2K and XP!
