Thanks Chris for telling me that in his latest GnomeREPORT, he's tring to fiqure out Microsoft's "unique" logic for fixing something thats broken...
Then, there are gems like this one [Firewalls not blocking ANY IPv6 traffic -Ed] Does the Windows firewall protect you from all incoming traffic? Not if it's IPv6! While it's not much of a threat today, I can easily see it turning into one tomorrow. Their solution: "To work around this behavior, obtain firewall software that can filter and block IPv6 traffic." How come nobody warned me about this?

Why isn't the tech press all over this serious oversight?! And, most importantly, when (if ever) will a patch be issued to bring the software up-to-date? Seriously, you might wanna tell your friends about this "little" technicality. Ten to one says Microsoft will never share this bit of news with the world. Of course, until the first exploit is unleashed. By then, it'll be two seconds too late. Feel free to link back to today's issue (permalink is the date in this Report's title bar). Once more, your subscription to Lockergnome may have saved your system from a future meltdown.

- Option to ignore MRU list entries in the registry cleaner, MRU lists can be safely removed but there's really no point in that, the lists will be created again when the software is next time run.
- Improved registry cleaner, it finds even more but is still totally safe to use.
- Improved performance, major optimisations in all sections of the program makes it even faster, beta testers have seen up to 200% gains in the program's performance.
- New automation features, the script engine has been almost totally rewritten, there are now over 280 script commands which can automate virtually anything you do with your computer.
- CD-ROM mode, the program automatically detects if it's being run from a CD-ROM, in such case it understands not to attempt to write anything to its setting files.

- This version contains the old documentation, new docs will be ready for the final version.

- Do not start to translate this version yet, there still will be some changes to the language interface.
- Please understand that this is still beta stage software and it's only meant for testing purposes.

The IPv6 patch I installed for 3Degrees included an IPv6 Internet Connection Firewall.. or at least it installed a new service titled something like that.

since IPv6 is not enabled by default, this is not much of a problem.

Scaremongering at the expense of MS again.

Yeah please start whining about an unfiltered network protocol that's in experimental status in Windows, only used on test networks and still with RFC changes pending!

IPv6 is not in widespread use right now so it is nothing to worry about for the moment. However, if Microsoft hasn't fixed this by Longhorn, there is some concern because IPv6 is going to start showing up in the masses soon.

No it won't. There are still important issues open, like multihoming and deprecation of site locals.

Guys, IPv6 is used on the INternet already. We hava a few Hackers that try to hack our customers servers or some that try Denial of Service attacks and even a few smurf attacks that are using IPv6 Packets to do so. It's just not widespread enough for people to freak out that bad. IPv6 is easily filtered too. Use your packet filter and just tell it to discard all packets that contain IPv6 header information. I mean, if you're gonna worry about somkething why worry about something as insignificant as IPv6.
