- This is on windows update also

Even if you installed the last version, going to windows update will download the new one and install it over the old one.
Everything is fine on my 2 machines.

- I have installed it and I havent noticed anything wrong, probably improved perfomance,
I remember having problems too the first time this patch was released had to remove it like many other people.

- Had to disable NAV to get it to install but I don't have the performance problem as I did before with NAV running after it has been installed.

- Well what can i say, must be me.
I HAD to reinstall system, then the very first patch i installed was the new 811493 patch and went in ok and no performance problems.
BUT there is still a problem. Trying to install ANYTHING else such as nforce sound drivers or even directX9a redist caused system to slow down and then the installation of the above mentioned drivers failed.
Even tried to install another security patch in which i have all on HD, this installation of a security patch made the installation go to a snail crawl and hence after something like 10 mins, i ended the installation.
After removing the 811493 secirity patch, i was able to install ALL of my drivers and security patches with no drama except i stayed clear of the 811493 patch and all seems to be well.
Conclusion.
There is STILL a problem with this security patch in some way. If you do not need to install it, then i recommend you think twice about installing it and hold off on doing so until you get some more feedback.
I also ask if ANYONE else tries a new installation of XP, install this patch first and see if you can install other drivers and patches easily.
Thats my experiences on that and i will be blasting MS again, hehe.

- I've tried this on 3 machines, a HP 1.8 P4, and two machines at home. A 2.8Ghz P4 and a 1.7Ghz P4, no problems or slowdowns that I've noticed.
But that doesn't mean anything yet..

Microsoft has investigated this issue and confirmed that there can be performance problems when the [original] patch is applied to Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems.
Mixed Reviews
It is safe to assume that not everyone is eager for Huang's guide to home modification of the XBox to gain a wide audience when it becomes available on May 27th.
XBox manufacturer Microsoft, along with Nintendo and Sony (NYSE: SNE) , has filed a lawsuit against Lik-Sang, a Hong Kong-based gaming-equipment company that sold mod chips, a device used to play copied games. The company was temporarily shut down and no longer sells the devices.
Faring even worse was David Rocci, who was sentenced to five months in prison and levied a stiff fine for running a Web site that sold mod chips and helped gamers find unauthorized copies of Xbox games to run on their modified boxes.
