- i don't understand all the "celebration" over a service pack. from what i've seen and heard so far it's not adding any new features. it's not like people aren't running all the patches that it includes on their system already. just wait for them to finish it. i can see if this was an operating system.

- actually this service pack, like Service Pack 1 adds new features. I even pointed it out in this post (concurrent sessions) and I don't see people celebrating this release, I think you need to calm down

- ok well i guess the "rush" of people going to download it seems like celebration to me. and what new features did sp1 add? i can only think of it just rolling all the patches into 1 file.
and this reply should have been below yours, whi is it above?? -

- hobsgrg already posted this here. Maybe his name should be added to the news post Neobond? I have noticed hobsgrg has been bringing lots of quality news to the Back Page News section of the site recently. I would get him on the news posting team Neobond!

- You are correct, sorry I will add his name, I actually re-did the post because his submission was incomplete and quite short (in our news-admin) as for news posters, we have loads now mate just look at the front page!

- I think the reason why someone would want to get any service pack they could ,is because they are already having problems/slowdowns on their system so they would try to see if this sp2 would fix anything

- lol a site I mod at also has it for download but I like the site and don't want to see it go down, so I am not giving any links out.
Either way, I still think it's too early to use SP2.

- Everytime I see a post about a beta service patch.......I just scratch my head.
Why on earth would anyone who's not beta testing, want to install a beta
SP? It just dosen't figure. If you have the time to waste, I guess it's ok,
but from what I've seen over the years, on uunet/IRC etc, after they install
it, and it dosen't work, they gripe and complain about it........DUH!

- pfft...stick with stable releases..just wait..seems so pointless to do something like that and install something thats not even done yet..especially something like that that can cause so much damage!

Far be it for me to deny you the latest beta of Service Pack Two for Windows XP leaked fresh from the depths of Redmond (where the programmers scream, they say) So here it is build # 1213. This is the first increment from 1204 (seen here) to 1213, we speculated back then that the Beta would be making a home-run on concurrent session in May, but like the Zetas of Zetatalk.com Planet X didn't show on the given date and we didn't get a pole-shift (not on a global scale anyway, or in my trousers you pervert)
Anyway Windows XP Service Pack 2 is now available for download on Tech-Connect, the site is running a bit slow (everyone wants a beta Service Pack, cool huh?) so u might have to wait a while for it to load - screenshots are not forthcoming.
Of course, Apple's Music Store uses one-click purchasing licensed from Amazon, so there's something of a technology fit already. Then again, that may be the only connection between the two companies and the only basis for the alleged negotiations.
That Apple is going to offer the service to Windows users, complete with iTunes software, suggests that the service is viewed by the company as a revenue generator and not a tool to attract buyers to the Mac platform. Since Apple is already sending 65 cents per 99 cent download to the music industry, it might not be all that keen on sharing any of the remaining 35 cents with Amazon.
Then again, a co-branded deal with Amazon would expose Apple to more customers - PC or otherwise - than it might reach on its own, and would give it a useful bargaining tool to achieve other outcomes, such as replacing Amazon's current Windows Media and RealPlayer downloads with QuickTime/iTunes versions
