- I heard that MSN 6 now allows file sending when users are on an ICS, is this true as i have a network sharing my cable via ICS and ave to resort to using yahoo IM for sending files and web conferencing with relatives abroad!

- Duh, well of course. Windows Messenger has nothing. Is excellent if that's what someone wants, no features.
Wow, been like 2 or 3 months since I last got Windows Messenger 5, and I still gotta wait longer.

- there is a need to monopolize
(windows messenger to monopolize the business market and msn messenger to monopolize the home market) -

Not completely. Seems like more of the typical MS bashing again.
Explain why MS includes Windows Messenger on Windows XP Home Edition then? No business uses Home Edition.-

- because windows messenger wasn't intended to be a business platform client originally, it was meant as a special XP only version of MSN Messenger

- business-orientation came later, with the release of MSN Messenger 5.

- Hmmmm, as long as it's not as ugly as MSN Messenger 6.... that thing looks like it got a kick in the teeth before they sent it out the door.

Maybe more we'll see some big changes but I'd very much doubt it, it seems at the moment that Windows Messenger is clearly a corporate version of the two Instant Messaging applications or what some would call a "slim lined" version out of the two, for those who want complete Windows XP compatability without the frilly bits of MSN Messenger 6.
Whatever happens more details are likely to come near the end of this week.
