QUOTE If you have Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall installed on your computer, you will not be able to install this Norton AntiVirus beta version.
Screw that. I'll wait.

QUOTE 50 FREE copies of Norton AntiVirus 2004 to the first 50 beta users that submit undocumented bugs.
And the rest of you will be forced to pay for the released product soon as the beta expires. Its their way of saying thanks for doing the work for them.
I never have liked the Symantec betas for this very reason. Its a ploy to get you to buy their product, and get free testing done for them.
Norton gives excellent protection, but I've had to reinstall my copy (2003) so many times I got fed up with it. Constantly loses your subscription data and stops auto updating. I now use Avast v4(the free version), which this year passed the Virus Bulletin Award 100%.-

What do you think any beta product is. All betas are free testing for the developer, that is the idea behind a beta.

- does version 2004 slow down the computer? becauase i noticed that both version 2002 and 2003 slow down my computer during boot up after i installed it.

- well i would expect that, it should be scanning stuff. with all antivirus programs you'll notice a speed drop when they are installed and a speed jump back up to "normal" levels when they are uninstalled, it just goes to what you want more.

- Actually I think the new Mcafee v 7.02 surpasses Norton antivirus 2003, by my tests nav 2003 didnt pick up half the script viruses that mcafee did, and avast did a poor job also, so its mcafee all the way for me. Will have to give this one a try though later on...

- Running Beta versions of *SECURITY* software is a very, very silly thing to do.

- I got a question. I downloaded the beta and got a serial code. I downloaded it again from their site and i got a different serial code. now does that mean each serial code works ONLY on that particular download or does any serial code work on any particular download, because the link is the same where im downloading...so its basically the same file being downloaded over and over again with different serials.
Please answer the question above...also..i noticed my bootup with windows xp pro with serv pack 1 ...took unbelievable time...i mean NAV 2004 really slows down the boot up. But the best feature is the pause button on the scans...now you can pause and restart your scans without having to start all over from scratch once you cancell it.
Man this is great. The way it detects viruses and shows you that you got one is nice. I rate this the best beta ever!!! NAV 2004 rules! ...except the slow up...thats a BIGGGG NOOO for people with slow computers.

- NAV 2004 is loaded with a new body and nice looks (colours) though that has nothing to do with its features. Good script virus blocking...tested that with pretty rough scripts...looks good to me. PS- Answer the above question post....really want to know about the Serial code stuff!

Norton AntiVirus 2004 Beta Version for Windows 98/2000/Millennium/XP Now Available.
We are very pleased to make the beta version of Norton AntiVirus 2004 for Windows 98/2000/Millennium/XP available for download. Norton AntiVirus 2004 is the best, most reliable and easy to use antivirus program in the world.
Many new improvements and new features have been added to Norton AntiVirus 2004. We are very interested in your feedback on this product. We will give away 50 FREE copies of Norton AntiVirus 2004 to the first 50 beta users that submit undocumented bugs. Winners will be notified via e-mail.
Microsoft describes Exchange 2003 as "the most reliable and secure version of Exchange Server to date." The product was developed with the same Trustworthy Computing coding principles used during the development of Windows Server 2003, meaning it is secure by design, secure by default, secure in deployment, and secure in communications, to use the company's now-familiar refrain. Primary functional improvements in this release include a completely revamped Outlook Web Access (OWA) client, which closely resembles and works like Outlook 2003; significantly faster synchronization between Exchange and Outlook 2003; new mobile device integration; a new HTPPS connection mode which negates the need for complex VPN access to the server; and a host improvements gained when the server is installed on Windows Server 2003, which adds support for better backup and restore methods and eight-node clustering.
From a pricing perspective, Exchange 2003 will cost the same as its predecessor, Exchange 2000, though it should be noted that customers will generally receive more bang for their buck with this release, especially if they are interested in deploying OWA. The product will be available in two editions, Standard and Professional, and will include licenses for the server, users, devices, and an external connector, which allows an unlimited number of external users to access the server.
