MSN have as expected released the final version for MSN Messenger 6, version 6.0.0602. Messenger Plus! still works in this version and ad-patches may follow.

Work will now be on MSN 9 and MSN Messenger 6.1 which are due to debut in beta form near the end of august. MSN Messenger 6.1 is expected to have subscriber only games/launch site applications.

Stay tuned for more MSN 9/MSN Messenger 6 info.

Since ALL other holographic storage technology use a spatial light modulator (SLM) which writes one complete page of data at a time. The data must loaded serially to the SLM and is destructively written so any mistakes on the serial loaded SLM means increased wasted write data time. This method is great for WORM data storage but when BIT FOR BIT Erase / Write / and Read of random data to a disk is needed in real time day to day applications the SLM concept will NOT be able to function.

Colossal Storages method for writing is like having billions of vertical spatial light modulated pages in one rewritable ferroelectric track, each track having billions of SLM's. Imagine having billions of SLM on the disk where the data is written / read in bit / byte / word accurately every time at atomic light speeds.

Ferroelectric non-linear photonic bandgap crystals offer the possibility of controlling and manipulating light within a UV/Deep Blue frequency. The small size of ferroelectric photonic bandgap structures makes it possible to fabricate transparent optical devices like volume atomic holographic storage having both positive and negative index of refraction.

Colossal Storage has over 1200 of the world's best scientist wanting to prove the patent and holographic concepts of the infinite rewritable random access nanotechnology.

Patents covers techniques and functions for controlling ferroelectric perovskite high-K dielectric binary dipole molecules properties which can be used for atomic holographic optical mass storage of data. The patents deal with techniques for fast data transfer read/write control of ferroelectric molecules which have a data retention life of >100 years.

Colossal Storage patents for ferroelectric optical storage wants to raise data storage densities > 40,000 terabits/cubic centimeter.

One 3.5 in FeDisk will = 20,000 DVD's or 4,000 Blu-ray disks

so what's the difference from the beta versions out? why can't windows messenger have all these funky options/look? and i'm still looking for a msn/windows messenger version where you can send messages to people offline! okay i'm done complaining. i like this version, but room to grow.

hint

use messenger plus and install it custom without the sponsor then you can just turn it on
#6.2 Gweedo on 16 Jul 2003 - 19:24
Yeah, so in other words a polygamy patch is what we need.
#6.3 blowdart on 16 Jul 2003 - 19:34
Found it, none of the "overhead" of msgplus

subscriber based games in 6.1? i think they are limiting there services a little too much now.
#8 Neobond on 16 Jul 2003 - 19:33
what a shame they didnt make it fully skinned like wmp9 thats the only area I feel the msn client is lacking. It looks like it should be skinned but isnt.. kinda like wmp7 when it came out on Windows Millennium.

LOL - subscriber only 6.1? Subscriber games! ROTFL.

1) Games: Some subscriber will tell us the game webservice/launch page and we'll all be able to instantly play subscriber games by editing out configcache. They might have some security thing, but that could be patched.

2) 6.1 itself: We have all proven Messenger 6 can be patched to do cool things like polygamy. 6.1 could be ripped out and patched to prevent any subscription checks. Then we can all enjoy an extrawarm version of Messenger without having to shell out for an Internet-encapsulating service for newbies like MSN.

Wrong. One could easily check Passport information on the server-side and validate that the user is a subscriber. It's not even somethign that would be controlled by the client...
#10.2 Xero on 16 Jul 2003 - 20:17
the man is correct thats like saying u can hack msn8, u cant u need to right passport info
#10.3 memodude on 16 Jul 2003 - 21:25
But, what if you hack it so it doesn't check the passport? For games, you can have it go straight to the flash, maybe write a passport abstraction layer if ya need to.

damn, im on 56k and just finished a 20 minute download of the old one
#12 Gweedo on 16 Jul 2003 - 20:34
Question: You can extract 4 files out of the installer. I'm curious as to what each of the files are.

//edit: actually what I'm trying to get at is can I make an installer for each version (9x, 2k, XP) so that I can send a smaller file to my friends instead of them having to download the 8MB file? (they're all on 56k and have little patience)
