he test scenario for these packages follows:

1. Uninstall the previous version of Hotfixes Q818043 by clicking the Change/Remove button in the Add/Remove Programs applet for the respective Hotfixes, if you have them installed.

* You can verify if you have these two package already installed via the following steps:

* Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs
* Open Registry Editor windows, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallQ818043

OR

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallQ815021

2. Reboot your test machine after the uninstall process has completed - this is required; you may have the system automatically reboot without any notification after the uninstall procedure is done. This is a known issue, and the fix is imminent.

3. Visit WU v4 beta site – http://v4beta.windowsupdate.com (pass req.). You will be offered the beta package, as well as two currently-live items without “Beta” in the title. Please, install only the packages with Beta in the title.

* Recommended Update for Windows XP (818043) - Beta
* Please download and install them.

4. Reboot your machine after the install is done - this is required.

Being a tester I have to, I just see no point in non testers instaling it as they cannot post their experiences in the newsgroups.

I'm a tester also, but so what?

Let them install it, if they have a problem they will post on neowin and we can run to the NG with there bugs/problems

I think that Q820128 supercedes this as it is v1221 and a later date for ntdll.dll
