can non official beta testers update their MSN Software?....I still have 9.00.0010.1601 and it does not find any updates
#6.1 ben_b on 31 Oct 2003 - 17:47
It will update when it is out. By the way it's not really smart to tell people your not an official tester. Microsoft reads this page too .

Just so you all know I'm an official beta tester and we haven't got to update yet either.

[QUOTE]Added the “Report SPAM” feature

Was that already in MSN Mail CLient? If you right click on a message you see "Report Junk Mail to MSN"
#7.1 bangbang023 on 30 Oct 2003 - 14:58
that list, as posted in the forums, is actually a compilation of changes from beta3 AND beta4. the button was added into beta3 I believe.
#8 Ikshaar on 30 Oct 2003 - 15:01

#9.1 BGuillaume on 30 Oct 2003 - 16:07
why ? did you prefer MSN 8 colors? yellow for the calendar and green for the address book....I dont mind the colors too much
#9.2 Ikshaar on 30 Oct 2003 - 18:34
I prefer one color for all .. but just that blue is too much.

wots the deal with msn 9? dont u hav to pay for it anyways like msn8?
#10.1 bangbang023 on 30 Oct 2003 - 16:51
yes you do have to pay. However, beta testers, like myself, get to use it for free during the testing period. Would really suck if theyexpected us to pay for it to test it out for them lol.
#10.2 the_moejoe on 30 Oct 2003 - 17:01
damn i wud of liked to see wot msn 9 is like
#10.3 apa1exakis on 30 Oct 2003 - 17:02
ha, yeah like AOL does.. doesnt matter how many products you test for them or how much feedback you give them you always have to pay.
#10.4 XP-RTM on 30 Oct 2003 - 17:44
haha AOL lololol
#11 XP-RTM on 30 Oct 2003 - 17:45
I am a beta tester of MSN 9 hope they release the update soon
#12 ODiaz77 on 30 Oct 2003 - 18:00
Wow MSN u just finished 6.1....and now MSN Messenger 6.2 ??!! crazy!!!
#13 BGuillaume on 30 Oct 2003 - 18:32
yeh sorta crazy ...
#14 sk858 on 30 Oct 2003 - 18:47
I'm impressed. Several of the improvements/fixes are things that I had sent in feedback about. Way to go MSN in listening to user feedback.
#15 nowimnothing on 30 Oct 2003 - 21:52
I've been impressed by the MSN client throughout the beta test so far... hadn't used any version before this one, but this one really is kinda neat.

I wouldn't be willing to pay for it - cost/benefit analysis there, but it really is nice, and these new betas are quite solid for me currently.

Hi,

Even though the build numbers appear to be going down, they are actually going up.
-----------
a. Beta 1 – Version: 9.00.0009.2602
b. Beta 2 – Version: 9.00.0009.1802
c. Beta 3 – Version: 9.00.0010.1601
d. Beta 4 – Version: 9.00.0010.1028
------------

If one looks more closely at this, you'll notice that the 3rd set of numbers(0009) are actually increased to 0010 in betas 3&4. Its kinda funny how M$ is doing that actually. Just thought I'd make U people aware for those who just don't have sharp enough eyes

Ok, now I'm REALLY confused. What EXACTLY is the latest version? 9.00.0010.1601 or 9.00.0010.1028. I did the update this morning and ended up with the same evrsion I had, which was the.1601. Any suggestions or ideas?
#17.1 apa1exakis on 31 Oct 2003 - 01:30
Currently 10.1601 is the most recent released version. MSN beta team was supposed to release 10.028 to us beta testers today. But its getting pretty late. We may not get it until tomorrow.
#17.2 mreska on 31 Oct 2003 - 02:41
Thanks.

(2 replies) #20 apa1exakis on 31 Oct 2003 - 02:58
MSN Development Team has just said that due to problems and some other changes that needed to be changed.. they will now release BETA 4 on Monday and NOT today. Just keeping u guys updated.
#20.1 hobsgrg on 31 Oct 2003 - 09:37
bugger, hopefully the new build will work better longhorn, the current one doesn't work too well on it.
#20.2 powerdafuture on 02 Nov 2003 - 20:48
The reason(s) why it doesn't work on LongHorn, is because LongHorn is alpha software and MSN 9 is beta software. Don't expect beta software to work on alpha software, it just won't ever happen.
#21 Crackler on 31 Oct 2003 - 03:09
Thanks for the update

#24 Andyscot on 31 Oct 2003 - 12:40
Well windows messenger in now in alpha build 6.0.4051 i am not sure if this is the acutally build number before someone qoutes me on it i am going the fact it wiuth longhon 4051 ie the same as windows longhorn i was having a look at it and it basically the same as msn messenegr 6 now with a few changes like windows messenger normal has, as for msn messenger 6.2 i can sort of confirm that this is true cause if you go into msn chat you find that there a few new emontions that aint available on messenegr yet so i would assume that it would be availabile in next build which would co inside with msn chat offically closing and next emontiosn appering, altough that was a con the chat rooms are still mostly open fi you pay even in the uk when it said they had gone

sigh.... hope the NEW msn has way better than 6.1 i installed it and nothing happened just stupid errors
#25.1 apa1exakis on 31 Oct 2003 - 16:15
If you're getting errors from 6.1 there must be something wrong with your machine. I'm not getting any errors and I havent heard about errors from anyone else. Just a thought. 6.1 works great for me.
#26 smashguy on 01 Nov 2003 - 01:47
where can I download of Windows Messenger 6??
#27 Clownboy on 03 Nov 2003 - 12:33

It goes (I know there is a change from 9 to 10) 2602, 1802, 1601, 1028... that looks like a countdown to me.

2602-1001=1601
1802 Move 8 to end = 1028
