- Yup, I got it too.....Cool.
Oh, and EDIT: It should say "Cnet has bought MP3.com" -- since Cnet is a proper name.

- I doubt it will change the crappy money hungry policies of mp3.com though.
What started as a very good site for amatuer artists to host their music and get it heard has been turned in to a licence to print money over the past few years.

- Exactly! I found it to be a great source of free AND legal quality music, although I think their service went downhill when they redesigned their layout and all. Made things harder to find. I hear they partly turned their back on the artists as well when they could no longer host their music there as easily.
Here are a few alternative sites that should be similar to the mp3.com as we know it:
- A Meeting Place For Electronic Artists: www.ampfea.org
- Internet Underground Music Archive: www.iuma.com
- DMusic: www.dmusic.com
- Epitonic: www.epitonic.com

- i just assumed that CNET owned them already... the way they tow the party line straight from the lindows chief (Michael Robertson). CNet is as biased as they come. I guess they'll buy the register next.
