Big thanks goes out to VikingStorm for bring this new update to my attention about how there will be no 90 nano delay in AMD's processors.

Reports that AMD CEO Hector Ruiz had indicated a fresh slip in the firm's move to a 90 nanometer process are incorrect. An AMD representative wrote to say: "The EE Times, and some other stories that have appeared, are based on a misinterpretation of what Hector [Ruiz] said during the telecon[ference] announcing AMD Fab 36. We reported nothing new on our 90nm transition during the call. "Thanks for helping clarify the issue". So the guy who does the pretty roadmaps won't have to tear up all his work and start from scratch, that means. He or she will be well relieved.

If the yields are going to increase with the 90nm process, I hope the prices go down quite a bit. Its the only way they're going to sell enough volume.

yeah, but the paper launch was 2 months ago
#4.4 xStainDx on 24 Nov 2003 - 02:58
Everyone paper launches everything. Even the AMD FX 51 was paper launched. nVidia paper launches things, ATi the same. They all do it.

Get you pumped with a bunch of "HYPE" so you go out and buy the thing. Marketing such an evil thing.

The Box order code which you can search on for fun for the 3.2EE is : BX80532PG3200F for the 3.2GHz and

BX80532PG3400F for the 3.4GHz.

Anyway glad to see AMD moving ahead with their 90nm plans it'll surely help them with higher yields and less waste.

End result = Faster chip at lesser cost to the consumer.

i read somewhere that the 90nm hammers produce 45-55 watts. Thats really gonna be great for AMD espcially with the prescott looking at 90-100 watts. Im personally waiting for a 90nm hammer before I hop on the 64bit boat.

I'll be waiting another year or two

intel need to throw away the p4 architecture, and start improving the pentium M one. Looks 1000 times better.(and maybe can compite with athlon f

Intel will use 65 nano. Isn't that better? (More potential?)
#8 iguanas on 26 Nov 2003 - 00:35
will use .65 uc only when they are used 90nm for couple of years, as everyone else
