Windows update V5 beta invitations were sent out on 5th September, requesting testers to participate in this new program.

The vision for Windows Update V5 is to provide an efficient and effective means to keep all Microsoft products secure and up to date with the latest patches, starting with Windows, Office, SQL, and Exchange. [For those of you who have forgotten -Ed]

Now suddenly out of the blue the Windows update V5 beta newsgroups have appeared. No email notifications have been sent out yet (maybe one must wait another 4 months for that too?) and nothing has appeared on Beta Place apart from in the modify contact info list.

When the beta finally does start we keep you informed, but unlike Microsoft it wont take us 4 months to do it ;)
