Dear ,

We are nearing the end of the MSN beta program, and on behalf of the entire MSNŽ team and MSN customers everywhere, we offer you our sincere appreciation and gratitude. We're extremely excited about both the quantity and quality of feedback you've given us over the last several months. These comments were the inspiration for the many design changes and bug fixes we made throughout the program. We feel truly lucky to have such a competent and enthusiastic group of beta testers. Thanks again for all your hard work and know that you made a huge difference in this upcoming release of MSN.

Billing notification

We are now preparing for the January launch of the new version of MSN and will begin to shut down this beta program. As a benefit of this program, your MSN membership has been free throughout the beta period. MSN Subscription Services will send a notification e-mail to your primary MSN e-mail account 30 days before this free period ends. If you have any questions or concerns about billing, please contact our customer support team toll free at (866) 240-7239, 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. (Eastern Time).

Your final released product MSN CD

You have been sent a final, released product CD, along with an end of program thank you gift, to your mailing address listed on BetaPlace. These should begin to arrive the week of December 10th 2003. Please note:

MSN 9 Dial-up users that are still using Beta 1, Beta 2 or Beta 3 should use the CD you will be mailed as your final upgrade CD. This CD will contain the final product code and should be used instead of the beta pre-production code you currently have. If you are using Beta 4, Beta 5 or Beta 6, please see the bullet below for upgrade instructions.
Broadband users should be automatically updated beginning this week to the final released code. If you are currently using Beta 4, Beta 5 or Beta 6 (see versions numbers below), please do NOT install the software from the upgrade CD you receive. The auto update will ensure that you receive the final released product, but it will allow you to still be marked as a beta customer in our system. This will let you participate in any upcoming beta activities we may have in relation to this product. We have valued your feedback and insight greatly and would like to be able to continue to call upon you for your opinions.

Please note that if you choose to upgrade from the CD instead of the auto upgrade, you will be switched completely off of the beta software and will no longer be able to utilize certain beta features, such as the Send Feedback and Report a Problem menu options.

If you don't know what beta version you are using, you can quickly check it by going to the Help & Settings menu in the top navigation bar and selecting About MSN. The second line of information will contain your version number. Here are the beta version numbers:

Beta 1 - Version: 9.00.0008.2602
Beta 2 - Version: 9.00.0009.1802
Beta 3 - Version: 9.00.0010.1601
Beta 4 - Version: 9.00.0010.2800
Beta 5 - Version: 9.00.0011.0500
Beta 6 - Version: 9.00.0011.1200 (final release)

Thanks again for your support throughout the entire program!

Don't always believe everything you read on sites like that. Sometimes it's accurate, sometimes not. Didn't that site claim MSN Plus was going to be delayed? I believe it did, and it turned out to be incorrect now.

Great, MSN Beta Teseters get a full version of the Software whereas Office Testers get a $2.00 radio, and they make more money on Office....go figure!
#8.1 Avenger on 10 Dec 2003 - 22:52
Big differences between a online service software and Office. Surely you realize that.

#11.1 LispyGlitter2 on 11 Dec 2003 - 08:41
Actually, Best Buy charges, but it's only like a cent or two. And we've been getting cool stuff from Beta along the way (at least I have), so I'm curious to see what's in store for us now that Beta is over
#11.2 Avenger on 11 Dec 2003 - 16:42
Yeah, I like the MSN Hat and USB Keychain they've sent me for this beta all along. Cool stuff.
#11.3 Gary_Player on 12 Dec 2003 - 12:49

#12 iczman on 11 Dec 2003 - 05:53
i'm super lazy.... how do i cancel my subscription? is there a way to do it online w/out calling them?
#13 jhaygood86 on 11 Dec 2003 - 13:10
They require that you call them for some confirmation things. If you don't want to be on hold, use your beta direct-access number located in your beta CD that you recieved. Of course, I'm keeping my subscription, as MSN Premium is a good deal for what you get.
