i like how they put the AOL icons on ur desktop. i always need a quicker way to get to my favorite program.

Then just de-select it in the installer! I don't see the problem there.

that needs to be changed for sure, they should get rid of all links to winamp3, what a flop for nullsoft
Quote this comment #18.2 Posted by Jstphish on 16 Dec 2003 - 06:34
They are waiting for permission from AOL to do so (AOL owns Nullsoft remember). I wouldn't be surprised if it took a couple of weeks to a month for them to update the site.

WA5 SUCKS because it doesn't have Enqueue/Dequeue in Playlist. Why couldn't they bring this from WA3? It shouldn't have been that hard to implement. Stupid Nullsoft.

winamp is fast and eat less ram than wmp

    wmp 6 for videos

    winamp for audio

    Quote this comment #31.1 Posted by net-cruizer on 16 Dec 2003 - 06:46
Why WMP for video? Winamp 5 plays all video files absolutely awsome.

Sorry guys but iTunes is still at the top of my list so far. The so called "final build" of Winamp 5 is great, don't get me wrong but I just can't ignore the fact that iTunes is much, much easier and faster to use from the start.
Quote this comment #33.1 Posted by mayamaniac on 16 Dec 2003 - 08:32
yep. Winamp5 would've been my music player of choice had iTunes wasn't available. But I like the single-window interface of iTunes better. The only thing iTunes lack is minimize to system tray, but its not a huge deal. But I'll keep Winamp 5 installed just to have an alternative player. I don't like the fact that winamp is not free anymore, at least not the "Pro" version.
    Quote this comment #33.2 Posted by divertom15 on 16 Dec 2003 - 21:02
LMAO @ the faster thing yeah right
Oooh oooh i do love how itunes installs all those useless services and a seperate exe just for the help system more ram im eating sepecialy' the exe for the ipod that i dont have running every time i run iTunes other programs run those services AS NEEDED not ALL the time oh and i love how the whole thing is built on top of quicktime so thats constantly running in the back too

looks like the guys writing the windows version need to learn how to write programs on a pc or better yet learn how to use a pc

Damn it doesn't play my AVI files. I have iTunes for music, I was hoping to ditch DIVX player for something better, I guess I'll keep it around though.

Anyone else notice they can never seem to get mouse wheel support working right on the first try? On the color themes tab the scrolling direction is reversed and scrolling isn't limited to the window. You can keep scrolling even after you've reached the top or bottom of the list.

Oh well small gripe on an otherwise great release.
