MICROSOFT ALERTED SYSTEM integrators yesterday that there's a problem with all new installations of Windows Small Business Server 2003 that were created after November 24th, 2003. According to Microsoft, the SNAFU is because some dynamic link libraries (DLLs) run up against the install program, which incorrectly says they're invalid.

Microsoft says they are valid, despite what the install program says. The Vole is frantically scrabbling to fix the software and hopes to release the upgrade within the next few days. Once the upgrade is available, it will be, in Redmond-talk, "slipstreamed into the existing SKUs". And in the meantime SBS 2003 will be available through authorised Microsoft OEM channels.
