Apple is expected to introduce new PowerBooks and iBooks early next week, according to MacNN sources. Apple will introduce revised 12-inch PowerBooks (two models), two revised 15-inch PowerBooks, one new model of the 12" iBook, two new models of the 14" iBook, and a single high-end 17" PowerBook configuration. The laptops are expected to be available early next week in limited quantities. Sources report that each model will feature speed-bumped G4 processors, while some models will feature larger drives and upgraded graphics cards.

The curse of Leo continues on TechTV even without him there. Cat bought one just a few weeks ago, and now they update it

Depending on where she bought it, she might still be able to return it and get one of the new ones, if it was less than a month ago.

Nope, 10 day price guarantee with a 10% re-stocking fee if opened.

Lol, I just bought an iBook. Anyway to tade it in like a car?

As I said in the previous post, it depends on where you bought it from and how lenient their return policy is. If you've bought it from a retailer like CompUSA within the last month or so, you should be able to return it and get one of the new models.

I bought it from apples online store.

I believe Apple's return policy is 14 days.

you could sell it, macs retain their value much longer than pc's. anyway, why is this here? it's a rumor, and while a highly likely one, it's certainly not news.
    #3.1 roadwarrior on 17 Apr 2004 - 02:56
Yeah, it's not like any other rumors ever get posted as news.

Yawn. 10 months and the sum of new hardware announcements is: moderate speed bumps (or price breaks depending how you look at it) for the G4 machines.

That sucks. My brother bought an iBook just 2 weeks ago.

I don't have the heart to tell him it's obsolete.

    Outdated? Slightly.
    Obsolete? Not even close.

There better be price drops for this little upgrade. I've been following rumours since janurary/frebruary.
I put my money on 4:20 (pot day ) a long time ago. There were many signs even back then that end of april, on a tuesday, around NAB, time to produce g4's (with power technology), early enough for g5's around christmas, ati releasing and producing cards... I hope i'm right becasue i'm about to buy one!

I love how EVERYWHERE all across the web everyone is posting a link to this with "full artical" (neowins the only one I've seen that doesnt say it) as its title...full artical my ass, its only 4 lines long and it just says the same stuff everyone else is saying...I'd ask for specs or something useful but if they're gonna come out on tuesday midnight (like they normally do) why bother

yea i am thinking about getting one for my first mac machines any software that i should get to go with it?
    #13.1 Krankerz on 17 Apr 2004 - 21:31
Unlike Windows, you get a bunch of software installed already. With Windows you only get Notepad and Calculator.

At least you get more apps with a new Mac, plus iLife '04 DVD!

Yeah...of course you mean Windows 3.11, right?

Then again, maybe someday, after all the BS lawsuits are done and over with, that might be accurate again. Of course then maybe Adobe will sue over Paint, and Hoyles will sue over Solitaire. I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
