Microsoft has begun sending out nomination e-mails for the upcoming Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 beta program. The beta program for LCS 2005 was first officially announced on May 4th via a PressPass article.
If you would like to nominate yourself to be in the program you can log in to BetaPlace and use the Guest ID: LCS2005. LCS 2005 is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2004.

It is the local domain server that hosts local MSN Messenger chat and so on.
I am kind surprised that they are making a new one already, considering I don't think the project has taken off into the air yet.

As far as i remember each setup exchange server can host a windows(msn?) messenger service with a max of 50000 users.
Or is it something else?
Good thing you told me that, our school needed some local service cause people were using msn messenger too much for fun and not work.
So we were considering Exchange 2003 for a local im server
So now i'm gonna tell them we gotta wait.
since this is called 2005 and its gonna be release in h2 2k4, does that mean that windows mobile 2k5 will be released at around the same time? i dont know if i should buy a ppc now, or wait.
