If you like Firefox but want to have mail, news, messaging and browsing all together then why not try the suite :)

"The Mozilla Foundation has made Mozilla 1.7 Release Candidate 2 available for download. Like the first release candidate, which came out last month, this build is designed to ensure that there are no major bugs remaining before the final release of Mozilla 1.7. The Mac OS X version of RC 2 now includes the Quality Feedback Agent (Talkback) crash reporting tool, bringing it in to line with Windows and Linux and making it much easier for developers to pinpoint the causes of crashes.

1.7 RC 2 will probably be followed by a further release candidate before the final launch of Mozilla 1.7. After the milestone ships, the 1.7 branch will replace the 1.4 branch as the stable development baseline, with Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and the next major version of Netscape expected to be built from it. More information about this latest release candidate can be found in the Mozilla 1.7 RC 2 Release Notes and builds are available from the Releases page or the mozilla1.7rc2 directory on ftp.mozilla.org.

Despite the fact that Firefox is the "cool" browser these days, the full version of Mozilla is still pretty damn good. It starts up just as fast as firefox for me, and its Mail client is pretty nifty. I never build the composer or the IRC into it when I build it, that may help to speed things up a little.

I still use the Mozilla suite, it's more mature and polished imo. It would be perfect if they fixed the download process like in Firefox so you don't have to right click "Save target as" on some files.

I also use the Mozilla suite more then Firefox. I use Mozilla Mail and sometimes ChatZilla and it is very nice to have all that in one package. RC2 is working great and I can hardly wait for the final version. Mozilla is just the best!

Firefox will eventually merge with the 1.7 Mozilla codebase, so we'll get the best of both worlds.

Yep, Firefox 0.9 will be based on 1.7. Firefox 1.0 will also be based on 1.7, and be a bugfix release of 0.9.

OMG they're bundling products together. Anticompetitive!

    Split em up!

But unlike some other companies they have the code available so anyone can split them as they like and unlike some other companies they allready have them split together and offer a download of components separately.

I think we're forgeting that Firefox is still "beta" -ish as well. I used mozilla for about 2 years and FireFox for the past 6 months, and I've found that I had much fewer problems with Mozilla than FireFox. Mozilla just seems more stable, even the RC versions.
