One of the best mobile browsers (Opera) is now offering a service that increases the rendering speed by up to 250%. Users of the Opera mobile browser can get a two week free trial by going to http://www.opera.com/proxy using their phones. This service has several different plans. You can pay for three months, six months, or a full year.

Opera has launched a go-faster service for mobile phone browsing, claiming the system cuts bills and increases rendering speed on mobile devices by up to 250 per cent. The Opera Mobile Accelerator is a proxy-based system available for Sony-Ericsson P800/P900 and all Series 60 handsets, including Nokia, Siemens and Sendo X (it say here, so it must be due soon).

Current users of Opera's mobile browser can configure the system automatically by pointing their phones at http://www.opera.com/proxy, where they'll have access to a two week free trial. The Register has been using a pre-release version for about a week now, and it's noticeably nippy, although the system could obviously benefit from larger numbers of users pointing the proxy server at our favourite pages, so that they come compressed by the server by the time we get to them.

Hello All,

We are currently looking to recruit trialists, for a trial of a new Internet Browser Toolbar. The trial is scheduled to begin around the end of June and will run until everyone has completed their script.

There are however a couple of requirements you need to be aware of:

*We only require trialists who have Windows 2000 or XP (if you have
anything different please advise)

*We are only looking for 100 trialists mixed across all tiers, so
recruitment will be done on first come basis.

I hope you would like to participate in the trial, and if so, please reply to this mail to advise.

thanks
NTL

How can they claim it is going to cut bills if they are planning on charging for it in two weeks?

Its cheaper if it costs less for the service than it costs to be online 2.5 times as long

Only if your using the dying regular wap price plans...

GPRS all the way...where speed means nothing.

You'll still end up downloading smaller files which will mean less expense, unless you get unlimited usage.
