- theyre not even a search engine... how can it be competition, yet? they already dominate the computing world, and about the same with the gaming world, any many other things... why the need to dominate the search engine world?
they're preparing, slowly, one step at a time to build a great empire that will soon take over the world!!! THATS why!!!

- why would it have to be alot better? if its better, shouldn't you use it? or are you giving google a handicap just because you don't like MS? (speculation)

- Why not give MSN a chance I mean I know there search blows right now but I would like to see how good they make it. And remember Google made all the email providers better with gmail now maybe MSN can make a great produce and force Google to make a even better search engine then we all win again.

- Damn what a stupid comment , those pseudo anti Microsoft/MSN geeks don't even know what they are talking about....
If MS wanna go into the Search market then it's better than anyone else...they have the technology and they can beat Google any day soon....
Hotmail will soon get better than poor stupid GMail , those who keep receiving spams simply don't know how to use the anti spal tools provided by Hotmail...what a shame...who would not be able to use MS technology ???
So yeh the search engine is a very good thing and the only thing that might be bad would be a slow search engine cluttered with ads everywhere...We'll see how things turn out,but I'm confident

Microsoft plans to kick off a series of improvements to its search capabilities starting in July as it looks to compete with heavyweights Google and Yahoo, Bill Gates said Monday.
Microsoft's chairman told a media briefing here that the company had "several milestones with its search site" on the way. "In July, the format of the site will change--and so will the quality of what you get--and the way it'll look is dramatically improved," Gates said. "It'll be later this year that we actually roll out what's entirely our own back-end driving the search".
Gates said the way search was currently done was "very low tech," based on taking a "bunch of words and making an index. "You're not actually understanding the documents, and so some of the false hits you get are almost humorous," he said. "A human would not make those mistakes because a human can understand the document."
Would have set the other to no show, but it has 2 comments and this has none.
Marking : DUPE!
