On Monday Gatway released three new eMachines (T2824, T2958, and T3092). These new machines have a price range from $399 - $599 (after rebates). Hopefully the acquisition of eMachines in March is starting to payoff for Gateway.

Gateway on Monday took the wraps off of three new eMachines-brand desktops.

The new models, which range in price from $399 to $599 after rebates, incorporate faster processors and upgraded components but maintain the same basic prices as previous eMachines desktops. Though the timing of the launch is typical for the eMachines line, this time Gateway launched only three new models, leaving off the traditional fourth model, which typically is priced between $650 and $699. The company's move is likely designed to set the stage for the addition of Gateway-brand PCs at retail stores.

Gateway, which acquired eMachines in March, has been aiming to approach retail sales with a dual-brand strategy, much like Hewlett-Packard's, under which eMachines-brand PCs sell for prices of up to $600 or $700 and Gateway-brand machines sell for prices of $700 to $800 or more. HP sells both HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario machines. Some HP models overlap on price and configurations, but the company markets Pavilions as being more high-end.

Would have set the other to no show, but it has 2 comments and this has none.

Marking : DUPE!

It's a shame Gateway undercut the reason why eMachines was able to be profitable (they embraced AMD). Looks like HP is the only retail peddlar of AMD64 chips left.

I just purchased an eMachines M6807, and I love it. I am one of the people that condemned eMachines for the crap they used to be, but after reading all the reviews on this particular notebook, I took the plunge and bought it. I haven't looked back.

BTW...the Athlon64-M is saawwwweeeeeeeeeet

I'd rather have anything than a dell. I have a top of the line dell computer and the first thing that went wrong was the HD power cable "not-working" out of nowhere after 1 week of purchasing it.

I have nothing but good things to say about eMachine's, currently have a T2200, has performed very well and had zero problems.
Have also got one other eMachine the 400idx, no problems there either.
I really wonder who bought who with the eMachine Gateway deal, as long as Wayne is running the show things will be good and profitable.
And when they come out with a PCI Express version, I will be there.

I love eMachines' new laptops. They Rock! Sure 2 years ago i wouldnt' have purchased one but they are looking really good now.

Especially the M6807/M6809 you can't ask for more and the price is excellent. Why pay inflated prices for other brands for less, besides they are basically the only ones who have Athlon 64 in a laptop.

shame they didn't go AMD on the desktops, maybe they're saving AMD for the high edn gateway desktops and leaving intel in the low end (where it belongs), but gateway is probably too stupid to realize that

I've had my eMachines T2482 since last August. I've had nothing but problems with it. Making a difference all right. Even back on my old IBM with 2.46GB HDD, I didn't have to reformat as much as I do with this POS.
It's too bad I let my dad go wild with it. I guess the scene of an LCD monitor and DVD ROM got him a little excited... And to believe the assholes don't even have a toll free number. So I have to call to some western state or Vancouver for tech support... hmm, where's my warranty. I think I want reimbursed for my faulty hardware.
