- I think nvidia's will ultimately prove faster, and if not faster, then cheaper, then that of alienware's.

- It's a good move by Alienware. They're providing their own technology, and also that of other GFX card makers so that everybody gets what they want.

- You have to respect this stand up move by Alienware, it would've been much easier for them to say they weren't going to offer the sli technology because of money dumped into the r&d for their videoarray.

- Nice for Alienware, But I don't suppose they will share their SLI should it prove to be better. Alienware is quite... Stingy on its hardware/technology..
I still want to buy that alienware case..

- those things cost as much as a some low end new cars... whoa!!!
but 1.6 terabytes of storage... yum -
#9.1 Posted by deadmonkey on 30 Jun 2004 - 16:43
- 1.6TB is a waste for home users IMO I would rather have faster drives than bigger drivers but that is just me

- If only I could afford Alienware

- No kidding. Who the heck can afford those machines, and in a quantity that keeps Alienware in business? The logic defies me!

“Should Nvidia’s SLI technology ultimately prove faster than Alienware’s Video Array, we will offer it to our customers as soon as it becomes commercially available,” stated Frank Azor, senior vice-president and general manager of Alienware’s Worldwide Product Group. “Either way, we will continue to develop and optimize Video Array for all non-Nvidia graphics solutions, such as those from ATI, 3D Labs, Matrox, and any other manufacturers. Our sole interest is in offering technology that provides the very best computing experience possible to Alienware customers.”
*Added for EU comparison; it appears its not just the UK getting ripped off.
