- Feeling a little constrained, try the Backberry. I think there are 6 or 7 apps available for it now.

- Well Kyro, your attempt to sound smart made you look like a idiot.
I see NOTHING in that report that talks about Handheld OS's.
Windows CE isnt Windows NT.
Please don't speak again

- As it has already been pointed out this article is dealing with embedded Linux and embedded Windows. The article you pointed to is about server versions of these operating systems.
I'm sorry to say you failed but thank you for playing anyways.

- You know this has got to be one heck of a low blow to PalmSource. When your biggest licencee and partner goes out and starts looking for a different operating system to run on some of their handhelds you need to rethink your strategy.
By now I was expecting to see Cobalt based devices out, but from what I've heard from various places is Cobalt was rushed to market and is not very good (with what limited experience I've had with the Palm OS 6 environment for Windows I can't really say much bad or good about it). Just today I seen PalmSource announced the released of the Cobbalt 6.1 environment for developers (which I haven't got around to downloading yet). When the next version of your OS has a preview out before your current OS is on any device it's time to worry.
After reading this (and various other articles about Palm not dealing with this topic) I can say things are starting to look very bad for PalmSource.

It is unclear whether this is another hoax or what is really going on.
Personally I like Cobalt 6.1 (PalmOS 6.1)
I find it easier to use than Windows Mobile
I guess its whatever works for you.
It would be interesting if they allowed you to "boot" into different mobile operating systems. That would sell millions of units!

The Milpitas, Calif.-based firm has evaluated both Microsoft-based operating systems as well as at least one version of Linux as a potential alternative operating system to the Palm OS for its handheld devices, CNET News.com has learned. Sources familiar with the tests said PalmOne has been quietly exploring operating systems to augment the Palm OS for some time. The company has also been exploring partnerships that could let it use a tailored version of the Linux OS to run on its devices, according to a source familiar with the company's efforts.
World of Warcraft will be available as a standard edtion for a suggested $49.99, and as a special collector's edition for $79.99. The special edition includes the game on both CD-ROM and DVD, a behind-the-scenes DVD, an exclusive in-game pet, a cloth map of the game world, a soundtrack CD, an Art of the World of Warcraft coffee table book, and a commemorative game manual signed by the development team. Both versions include a first month free. Pretty sweet.
"World of Warcraft has been our largest undertaking to date," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "When we set out to create a massively multiplayer online game, our goal was to expand the scope of the Warcraft universe by offering an incredibly dynamic game experience. We're extremely proud of the game we've created, and we believe players will be very pleased when they see what we have in store for them."
Now, one of the only questions remaining -- apart from what your first character name will be -- is whether you can finish Half-Life 2 in time to pick up the next great PC release of the season. We think you can. We think this is going to be one very hot holiday.
