If you have the hardware and software to test it go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/wus/default.mspx

He did also talk about "Operations Manager 2005" and "Virtual Server 2005".

- This has very little to do with this, but the one thing I never got about the normal Windows Update was why it doesn't starts installing after it's done downloading each individual package. I mean, Installing can take forever, and so can downloading....And If i have 30 updates, why doesn't it multitask?

- I see your point and I think there should be an option, however I can see problems with that idea if it we're enforced by WU. For instance, what if you we're connected via. dial up modem and you selected a modem update amongst other updates, if it did the modem update first it would disconnect to update the driver (at least, that's what the Conexant winmodem driver from WU does for me) which would nerf the update process with it's internet connection suddenly being severed.

- well what happens if someone downloads a network/modem/or tcp/ip? it would have to disconnect the network connection which is being used to download to install it... there would need to be a lot more logic there then there is currently for it to work correctly, and then thats assumeing the 3rd parties that supply drivers to windows update mark them as a network driver or update for a network protocol

During a keynote speech at the company's IT Forum conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, Gates outlined Microsoft's ambitious effort to trim the cost of managing corporate data centers, called the Dynamic Systems Initiative. IT Forum, Microsoft's largest conference in Europe, is expected to draw roughly 4,000 IT professionals.
Microsoft also announced systems management-related product updates, including the first public test release of an automatic Windows update service. Microsoft's DSI is a multiyear plan to wring greater productivity out of systems operators, who oversee company networks. With better management tools, administrators can handle more tasks, such as updating server patches, more quickly.
Improved systems administration has become a high priority for Microsoft's business software division. Company executives point out that the majority of information technology budgets are dedicated to running existing systems, rather than creating new business applications. Microsoft competes with IBM, Hewlett-Packard and other companies in the systems management software market.
The major problem of efficient web surfing is organizing favorites and managing links to the web sites we have visited and found to be of interest to us. It is a well known fact that finding the web site that meets our needs and re-visiting it is much more effective than searching the web each time. With growing number of high quality online services it becomes almost impossible to keep the link information well-organized and easy to use. Browser favorites and bookmarks in most cases are not enough to represent complex information exchange models of a human being.
At this point, many of us realize that an application capable of organizing, cataloguing, sorting and synchronizing web links may save the day. But where do we find the one and only solution that would take the browsing headaches away?
Introducing Link Commander by Resort Labs, the unique fully automated links management solution that allows you surf the web easily and visit the places you want to visit, exactly when you need to!
Link Commander integrates with your web browser(s), automatically importing all your current favorites and bookmarks into a links collection. Once this is done, you can organize your links into groups, sort them basing on extensive set of criteria, set individual link verification options and even browse the web right from the application!
The program features convenient classic two panel interface available in five different visual styles and localized to several languages.
Besides link management convenience, Link Commander is capable of password-protecting either entire collection or selected folders only. Another great feature of this application is collection backup and comparison of current and backup copies, which is very useful when you want to synchronize links on home and office PCs. You can also share your links collection with anyone who has an e-mail address.
So why wait any longer? Download FREE 30-days trial version today and see how convenient web browsing can be!
