- This board looks better then ABIT nForce4 SLI.
But they both have little niggles for me.
They both a power connector on the left handside of the CPU socket. Really crap for modders who have side windows and like hiding cables.
Damn poor design.

- Nice, one of the reasons im hanging on to my old N-Force 1 with Athlon 2400 is due to waiting for the N-Force 4 beasties to get out in the world more

- Ah, the typical paper launch. Gotta love them! Any guesses on how many weeks it will be before one truly hits the shelves?

- The PCI-E ports are between the SLI ones...
So... how do get to use it?
1- will a PCI-E card actually fit? I mean in terms of width, since a too large card will interfere with the SLI device thingy-majig.
2- wouldn't be a hassle to try to install/remove/change PCI-E devices when you have a SLI setup?
3- the distance between the cards differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. With a SLI bridge device being solid, how will NVidia/Mobo manufacturers address the issue?
I have nothing against SLI in itself, it's just how it's implemented. But from what I see, all I can say is this:

The new board marks the launch of the Nvidia's SLI technology which allows enthusiasts to integrate two GeForce 6600 GT or higher graphic cards into one system via a bridge chip. Nvidia said that currently gaming would be the only application to benefit from increased graphics performance devlievered by SLI. The Asus SLI board already made headlines late October when it was used to break the 10,000 points barrier of the 3DMark 2005 graphics benchmark. Shipping now, the A8N-SLI is expected to arrive in online and retail stores well in time for Christmas. Pricing was not announced yet.
