Sounds promising.....
Not to troll, but this has been the number one reason why I have disliked Pocket PCs since their inception. What brilliant mind decided that Pocket PCs should purge themselves of data if they run out of charge?
Palms do not exhibit this behavior at all.
In any event, I'm glad to see this one very welcomed change. Welcome to 1997, Microsoft!
Palms do not exhibit this behavior at all.
Actually, they do. Palms also store most data in volatile memory. My Treo 600 was victim to this effect on a few occasions.
Many PocketPC's, like Palm's, refuse to function if they get below 15% or 10% battery life. The idea is that the last bit of battery life will sustain the memory until a recharge. Many others (like my PPC6601) have a second backup battery just for the memory.
I don't really see why this is a new feature, though. I think it's just a new name. Most WM2003 devices (including mine once again) can store certain data in the ROM.
Still others store their data on SD cards which also makes sense.
isn't that the dude off the OC?
Im going to give him a call
Dell= Good products + Good price + Horrible Service, Support
Don't know what to expect anymore...
but whats worse is that i bought it at compusa with a walk-in replacement plan, meaning i should be able to go in the store and have it replaced with an available model for one time for whatever reason; but they now are saying they changed their policy and i'd have to have it shipped to toshiba to have it evaluated.
