Microsoft have announced the availability of Microsoft Office Outlook Live.
MOOL has been in beta internally and externally for several months. Designed as the upgrade to the MSN Outlook Connector, MOOL offers significant upgrades and stability. Using MOOL allows you to sync mail/calendar entries/contacts/notes/tasks between MSN Hotmail and Microsoft Outlook.
MOOL will be offered as a subscription service only. With an Outlook Live subscription customers will receive the latest version of Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for Subscription Services, plus 2 GB of online storage and the ability to send 20MB attachments. The current price of $44.95/year is an introductionary offer until April 19, 2005 when the service will be priced at $55.95 per year.
The Outlook Live subscription service will be launched in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada today but its expected MSN will expand the service later this year.

Virus infections and spam are free.
I'm sick of M$ ways.
I guess it’s time to change my mail account for one that let me Pop3.
They both have the same features by the looks of it. The only thing I can seem to see is that you get Outlook with this and not in Plus?
You get everything u get with Hotmail Plus (2GB, no expiry etc), and...the Outlook 2003, and the ability to easily drag and drop your calendar, tasks, notes, contacts to your Hotmail folders and for them to appear on the web based version as well. The download speed of all emails is greatly increased as it uses MAPI rather than HTTP for download email messages and you calendar, tasks, contacts, notes etc all show up in Outlook as if you were monitoring a shared Exchange Calendar or you had just created a second folder for each....
Questions....?
Q: Are you forced to use their copy of Outlook? Or can you use your own copy of Outlook 2003?
C: All in all, $4 a month for the first year, and under $5 a month for the next year isn't that bad...
I wonder if us MSN Premium users will get this for free or at least a discount?
It seems more or less like its a subscription to an Exchange service like HostPilot.
If you do not own a copy of Outlook, you will have to purchase MOOL as a separate subscription.
If you have a previous of office and use word as the editor you will not be able to with Outlook 2003 as its not the same version of word /outlook
You will not be able to do a mail merge either
You cannot send files with the mail recipient command as well
These limitations will be part of the agreement but how many people read that??
