Today's product review over at Guru of 3D is a product from the well respected manufacturer Prolink. The product tested is their GeForce 6600 GT in a nice AGP flavor. Ever since Christmas 2004 (seems like a long time eh?) when the AGP version of the GeForce 6600GT became available, these little puppies have been flying over the counter. They are hot, wanted and they are selling. And they should be selling as the GeForce 6600 GT offers really nice performance with a feature set that is completely up-to-date for a price that most of you are willing to spend, if you are a gamer that is.
When we tweak the product we see some nice overclocking potential, the 562 MHz core is good and boosting another 200 MHz out of its memory again will bring you an extra overall performance increase. So here you have this AGP 8x product with great performance, is 100% stable in an AGP 8x configuration (we did not have one crash).

The February Beta Weekend Event allows players to experience the beauty and grandeur of Ascalon before the Charr decimated it. What makes this review significant? Guru3D already covered an AGP 6600GT and many more interesting products.

Maybe they covered the PCIe version last time, as far as I know the PCIe ones were available first in the 6600 line of cards.

I fully agree with SquareSoft0 lately front page has been whored out for the sake of advertising to other sites.
What makes a 6600GT AGP significant at all? I mean if your going to upgrade your mobo anytime at all in the future you'll more than likely be SOL unless you get lucky. Thats why I'm pondering getting one or not.

AGAIN. Frontpage News??? NOPE!

i wish reviewers would stop harking on about the video decoding / encoding features of the 6x00 series nvidia cards. this was one of the main reasons i purchased my card, and there's still no sign of the drivers / software required to do hardware encoding, and the hardware decoding drivers pretty much don't work.

gj nvidia!
