The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool checks Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 computers for and helps remove infections by specific, prevalent malicious software—including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom. When the detection and removal process is complete, the tool displays a report describing the outcome, including which, if any, malicious software was detected and removed. The tool creates a log file named mrt.log in the %WINDIR%debug folder.

Microsoft will release an updated version of this tool on the second Tuesday of each month

PS: Your dedicated Neowin writer got 10/10 on both - although the US one was a close call :)

Is this Microsoft Antispyware? Or is it something else?
#8.1 hotrod on 12 Apr 2005 - 13:11
different from their antispyware. this is something similar to McAfee's Stinger app. but personally i like Stinger better. Stinger if you want it.

Blaster? Well, thats a Crappy Virus that you cn easily get the Patch to remove, remembering to type "shutdown -a" in 'Run'. Mydoom I never really got for till the end of the Year... And got rid of it in less than 3 Minutes.......................

Still, nice to find Microsoft helping the n00bier users.
