Peripherals manufacturer Logitech said Thursday that all of its mice and keyboards will operate at a basic level within Microsoft's new 64-bit OS. Specialized SetPoint functionality, however, is due in June. Logitech representatives responded to a request for comment made just under two weeks ago, when fellow hardware manufacturers were asked about their plans to support Microsoft's new Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, released earlier this month, with their own 64-bit drivers.

Key features for the upcoming expansion pack:

  • Arena champions: Take the form of new exotic creatures, or fight as yourself, in battles for glory against other creatures or players.
  • New movement: Search for treasure and find adventure in new areas by climbing up and down walls for the first time in an MMO.
  • Voice-over emotes: Express yourself in a battle or expand your social circle with new voice emotes.
  • Guild vaults: Share the loot of a hard won battle with the rest of your guild members.
  • Level range increase: Now play up to level 60!
  • New land: Discover over a dozen new zones and epic encounters.
  • New creatures: Test your combat skills in battles with over 40 new fearsome creatures.

So if i understand correctly.. the mice and keyboards will work when plugged into x64 computers... but if you want to install setpoint, there won't be an x64 version till june....?

at least i'll still be able to use my mx510 but without drivers the mouse doesn't operate at it real speed

Doesn't bother me. I don't install their drivers anyways.

SetPoint only!?

What about iTouch and MouseWare?

It's good that they're bringing 64-bit drivers out soon. However, I'm using the MX900 Keyboard/Mouse and I refuse to install their drivers - I use Microsofts built in drivers because they do the job perfectly

I am glad Logitech is doing this, I'll be getting a DiNovo Media Desktop soon, and I currently have an MX900 and don't like the fact that the mouse only has basic functionality right now. Now if HP would start cranking out some x64 drivers, that would be nice so I could use my LaserJet 1300 in x64.

I dont think it should take long until most manufacturers are making 64bit drivers.... then, and only then will I consider switching.....

ATI and nVidia are in the progress of making theirs atm....

ati and nvidia already have wqhl drivers available.

This is why I took the guess about 6 weeks ago that 64-bit would not become mainstream until Longhorn. I'm actually glad I do not have a 64-bit computer; I don't have to choose between running a 64-bit OS and having full compatibility :-)

Sweet ... my Logitech Dinovo Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard/Mouse will work on x64 ...

(Win x64 and Longhorn?) hope so ...

All manafacuters should already have 64-bit drivers. It's not like they didn't know this was coming. And they had access to the RC's so they could test their drivers.

this is true
but alot of companies are doing complete rewrites(i think u have to)
creative is (and im glad cause they have moved to a minimalistic driver)
