Nethercomm Corporation, the leading innovator of subterranean broadband communications, announces the development of Broadband-in-Gas (BiG) Technology. This technology is designed to effectively multiply the current available bandwidth of cable television and all other broadband systems with data capacities exceeding ten gigabits. Broadband-in-Gas delivers unmatched levels of connectivity by making use of Ultra Wideband technology to wirelessly broadcast information in a way that is both safe and reliable by using the private spectrum isolated within natural gas pipelines.

Is this transmitting data through the gas itself or using the actual metal piping to transmit the information? They don't exactly say.

That's what I'm saying Octol. They say "in" which confuses me a bit. Even if they do it through the actual piping, doesn't there need to be some protection against things such as static electicity and all? This is gas, afterall.

IGx89: Thank you for clarifying. I'm not sure how I couldn't understand that from the article, but it's nice to finally get what is being done.
