Google has launched an experiment to speed Web site information and changes to its index.

Web site administrators--whether they manage a single-page site or corporate Web site--can use the free program called Sitemaps. "This collaborative crawling system will allow our crawlers to optimize the usefulness of Google's index for users by improving its coverage and freshness," Google said on the Sitemaps site.

"Opera is honored to receive PC World's World Class 2005 Award, as we strive to lead the browser industry in innovation and excellence," says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "We are largely known for our innovative features, but Opera 8 also excels in its security offerings. We not only extend users as much functionality as possible but also a considerable degree of protection while online."

Opera 8 was released on April 19, 2005, and is hailed by reviewers as "fast", "flashy" and "still number one in browser innovation". Known as a viable alternative to the market giant Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Opera's market share is growing. Current download figures for the newest version of the browser totaled four million in the first four weeks of its release.

Actually that python script only generates the xml that googlebot then fetches. You can create that xml with whatever tool you want.

I'm too lazy to read all that.

So, for every html, htm, php, et cetera page I have (except the longdesc ones), I should add a loc for it, right?

True, however they've since distanced themselves from the positive comments about Kool-Aid with the release of Google Gulp.

bit tricky for me, but seems useful nonetheless. Hope someone develops a nice php GUI for this, or something like that. This would be an awesome feature for Invision to integrate into IPB2.1
