Sharp will begin mass production of the world’s first dual-view LCD, enabling viewers to see 2 totally different images when looking at an angle to the left or right of the screen. This breakthrough is achieved by superimposing a “parallax barrier” onto the LCD to make the source light separate into right and left directions. We will be able to see mobile phones, personal computers and televisions using this double-vision display technology in the near future. This technology can also be applied to car navigation systems, allowing the passengers to watch a movie or TV program while the driver checks a route map on the same LCD screen.

dual layer sound is all well and good, but its highly restricted on the environment. You're pretty much always gonna get leakage

Here in spains TV screens that can distract the driver are illegal. I think you can have TV screens for the backseats, but not for the drivers, apart from the GPS screen and such things (mp3, etc, etc).

Thats why when you sit on left side of car you see GPS screem
and when you sit on right side you can view TV, they showed on Japanese news.
(or if you re in UK driving on the wrong side of the road, switch the right and left)

wasn't this shown on Pimp my Ride? That electronics guy, think his name was Max, was saying "You can have one picture here, or one picture here, or you can have both!"

I love Pimp my Ride... I'm all, "duuuude, das' be taaaiiiiitt!!" and my mate is all "Shutch'o mouth! *pimp slap*"

dual view in cellphones and in-car map navigation? I think the adjustable view angle feature has more potential since there are lot more applications that this feature could be useful.
