Apple enthusiast site Think Secret reported that Apple's forthcoming iBook updates will be accompanied by three new Mac Mini configurations, according to new part numbers that are showing up in Apple databases.
Sources say the three new models will be priced $499, $599 and $699, and will soon be available for purchase. New iBook part numbers are meanwhile showing up at $999 and $1,299 price points, with the $1,499 model seemingly dropped from the line-up.
The system's full specifications are still unknown, though the omission of the $1499 iBook suggests that a shift to the SuperDrive may become a build-to-order option. Similarly, the $699 Mac mini configuration may represent a pre-configured model with additional RAM or storage space and not an entirely new configuration in its own right.
Sources say the new systems could be announced as early as next week.
