Thanks Scyphe for this news.

After many betatesters noticed their GeForce 6x00-cards didn't support the new effects in Windows Vista with the native drivers, the rumours started about nVidia working on LDDM-enabled drivers for the OS, and on friday nVidia released them. This gives full support to all the new effects offered by the new UI-engine in Windows Vista Beta 1.

These aren't the full ForceWare-package though, no control panel included, and they're released as Alpha for the time being.

Other hardware components like soundcards are causing problems too, and theres no indication that Creative will be releasing (beta) drivers for Live! & Audigy cards anytime soon. Windows Vista beta 1 shipped with no support for DirectSound, but there are ways to enable limited sound support.

Mine works ok with GF 5950 Ultra but with the newer LDDM drivers I find that IE flashes a lot
