AOL, Warner Bros. Form In2TV to Offer Free Online TV Reruns

"Welcome Back Kotter" is just one of the dozens of old television shows that will soon be available for free online thanks to a deal announced on Monday between America Online Inc. and Warner Brothers. This joint venture creates a new broadband network, called In2TV, which will be launched in early 2006.

Joining the lineup of 30 series to be initially offered are "Sisters" and "Growing Pains". Shows will be grouped on channels by genre in categories such as comedy, drama, animation, science fiction and horror, action-adventure, and "vintage TV." Future In2TV plans include more than 100 television series and 300 episodes per month in the first year.

You have to be kidding me! I never once would have guessed the only daily paper in my small college town in southeastern Minnesota would be sourced (why? not sure; Shane, you go to WSU?) on the front page of Neowin

[edit] lol, when I try to play an AOL HI-Q video the following text is on the bottom: "Broadband recommended; dial-up users may experience delays. Really long delays."

Lol, no, I'm a little old for college. I get news from all over, and in looking for an Associated Press source on this topic The Winona Daily News was the first hit that I got.

Wouldn't this put channels like DeJa View out of business? I coulda swore I saw Welome back Kotter and a couple other old classics were on DeJaView. I know I'm too young to have remembered it, but the 4-5 episodes I watched on the DeJaView Preview channel were pretty good, though quote corny compared to todays standards. Also I'd like to point out I'm Canadian, so if your from the US, DeJaView = old shows...re-runned.

ive know about this for about 6 months my father being in time warner corporate office which owns warner bros they were in talks for quite a while finally they pulled it off.
